Artist Statement
I spent most of my childhood growing up in Africa, where colour and creativity were embodied in a vibrant multicultural society. A compulsive creative I have always had my hand in 'doing something' forever thinking it's easier to make than to buy. (Insert *rolls eyes*) My current baby is my love for candle making and a keen interest in aromatherapy all rolled into my small/not so small biz, Studio MiLK.
Painting is my passion and a creative expression of my life! I love experimenting with techniques, colour and composition; and all my paintings display an abundance of texture. I’ve been known to paint over canvases many many times, so my 'journey' is always reflected in the final result! I'm fascinated by the subjective interpretation of art and the part mood and emotion plays in determining when a piece is "finished".
